We Love Mischa Barton

Mischa Anne Marsden Barton, or simply Mischa Barton, is a familiar face for “The O.C.” fans. She played the role of the rich socialite Marissa Copper. The FOX TV series made her name popular and highlighted her acting career. You would also remember her in Hollywood films like the “Skipped Parts”, “The Sixth Sense”, and “Notting Hill”.

Mischa is also a popular model by the time she entered showbiz. Her beautiful and blemish free face won her a contract with Neutrogena skincare products. She also modeled for a number of clothing companies including Calvin Klein, Aeropostale, Dooney & Bourke, Morgan de Toi, Bebe Stores and Jaspal, among others.

Mischa was born in England on January 24, 1986 to Irish mother Nuala née Quinn and English father Paul Marsden Barton. She started acting at the young age of nine and joined several stage plays and Off Broadway productions. A few of the acclaimed stage plays she was in include “Where the Truth Lies”, “Slavs”, “ Twelve Dreams”, and “One Flea Spare”.

Her love for the limelight paved her way to several TV acting stints. She first appeared on television in the year 1996. Her first TV job is for a daytime TV series “All My Children” and then several other TV shows then after.

In 2004, she won the Teen Choice Award as Female Choice Breakout TV Star for “The O.C.” Mischa Barton won for herself another TV- Choice Actress award for “The O.C.” in 2006. The Prism Award also took notice of her acting ability and nominated her for Best Performance in a Drama Series Episode in 2007.

Without a doubt, Mischa Barton has a promising career in front of her. With an acting ability and beautiful face to go with such a talent, Mischa Barton is set to awe Hollywood and the whole world.

Mischa Barton ready to bare it all!  December 17, 2007

The former "The O.C." actress has told Maxim magazine that she's ready to bare it all onscreen. Mischa Barton says, "I don't mind nudity. I just don't do it that often." But it doesn't mean that if nudity doesn't bother her that she would get naked in ANY film. The 21-year old star shares, "It depends on the film and if I trust the director and if the context is emotional or just sexual." Hmm, so I guess this still means we have to wait awhile before we see Mischa Barton nude. Anyway, she was last seen promoting her new drama romance Closing the Ring at The Late Late Show in Dublin, Ireland last December 12. In the said movie, Mischa Barton plays the young, lively, and optimistic Ethel Ann, who falls in love with a young farmer, Teddy Gordon (played by Canadian new comer Stephen Amell). Closing the Ring will open in UK theaters this December 28. Go catch it!

Mischa Barton is! And don't look at me, she was the one who called herself that, hehe! "The O.C." actress never went to college and so is filling this educational gap in her life by sitting in on various lessons. "I loved school so much. I was a real dork! I was massively into English literature, psychology, things like that," says Mischa Barton. "In fact, as I still have a lot of friends my age, I'll still sit in their classes in New York at NYU sometimes and check out their lectures."

Aside from school lectures, Mischa Barton is also SO into her British roots. She says, "I actually feel more comfortable in England a lot of the time. It's a huge part of my life and I visit all the time. One thing is that in England you start school younger and have a better education. I think that's why my sister didn't fit in when we went over to New York, it was just so different at school." The 21-year old actress has dual citizenship. She lived in England until she was four before relocating with her parents to New York.

Mischa Barton in Sunderland  November 3, 2007

For some reason, works of Lewis Carroll (especially Alice in Wonderland) is the rage these days. Numerous symposiums have been offered to talk about his literature, a theater work is in the wings, and there are two movies inspired by Alice in Wonderland. And in one of them, Mischa Barton stars. The film is called "Malice in Sunderland" and is a modern "perverse" remake of the aforementioned classic. The former OC star plays an American student who is hit by a London taxi and finds herself disoriented in Sunderland, where she has to navigate a macabre underworld of characters. The script is written by Jayson Rothman, and Mischa Barton will be directed by Simon Fellows. "Malice in Sunderland" is set to go before the cameras early next year in London. Let's hope Mischa Barton will give justice to this upcoming meaty role. If you remember, her upcoming movie "Finding t.A.T.u." wasn't very well received in early critic reviews.

Another Lesbian role for Mischa Barton  October 19, 2007

Former O.C. star Mischa Barton has signed up to play a lesbian in her newest project. According to reports, she will play a Russian teenager named Lana in “Finding t.A.T.u.”. The film, which is based on a novel, tells the story of two teenage girls Janie (American) and Lana (Russian) who fall in love after meeting at a t.A.T.u. concert. They are then swept into a dangerous world of obsession, drug abuse and murder. Oooh, sounds exciting!

For those who can’t remember, t.A.T.u. was a fake lesbian Russian pop duo that became controversial in 2003 coz of the video of their single “All The Things She Said”. Seen in the said video were two girls (both wearing Catholic school uniforms) who share a kiss. It was later revealed they pretended to lesbians to boost publicity. Anyway, the 21-year old star’s newest film is set to be released early next year. And FYI, Mischa Barton already played a lesbian before. Her 'The O.C.' character Marissa Cooper had a brief fling with wild child barmaid Alex.
